Miraculous Carrot Juice
By Susan Logan, Canada
I want to share a miracle that happened in my family only a week ago, and all because of carrot juice.
I have a second cousin who is 82 years old and had only 13% of his heart working right after having a heart attack a few years ago.
With the problems that the heart gave him, he was put on all kinds of meds to help him, which created more problems for him.
His kidney stopped functioning. He was told there was nothing more they could do for him but try to make him comfortable in the hospital. All his family members were preparing for his death, and he was put in palliative care.
When anyone saw him, they really thought he was in the worst shape they had ever seen him. He couldn’t urinate and they had to get it out of him. His urine was brown. He had no strength, nor color on his face and was in a lot of pain.
A few days after being in palliative care, he asked his grandson to bring him some freshly extracted carrot juice and his grandson did. He drank the carrot juice and soon afterwards began to urinate, then began to eat a little.
His urine began to clear up and soon he was himself, with more energy and a healthy color on his face. His blood pressure even changed for the best that it had ever been in the past two years. This was after drinking the carrot juice every day, three times a day. All this happened within a week.
The doctor was shocked when he came back to the hospital after the weekend to find him there and healthier. That’s not even the best of the news. He was released from the hospital and is now home, full of life and seems younger than ever before!
82 years old, with only 13% of his heart working and now this, that says something very strongly about what is in carrots! I’m telling you, he has the nurses and everyone he knows, now going to make carrot juice, LOL!!
I’m just so happy he is doing so well, and to be honest, even better than he has been in the past two years!
It’s the miracle of carrot juice!

Simplify your home life and clear the clutter with these easy rules.
1. Keep things of value
Everything in your home should have some value to you. If you don't use it, need it or even like it, then it's time to give it away.
2. A home for everything
Do you constantly lose things in your own home? Give your belongings a place where they live and return them after use. Communicate this system to your household and the result will be fewer missing things and a tidier home.
3. Focus on one thing at a time
You might think that multitasking and rushing from one activity to the next will save time and energy. But what you really end up with is a bunch of half-finished projects and exhaustion. Focus on one task at a time - sort the mail, then do the washing, then cook dinner - to uncluttered your daily schedule.
4. If it doesn't fit, it goes
There is absolutely no point in keeping clothes that don't fit or suit you anymore. They are simply taking up valuable wardrobe space so donate or sell them to someone who will appreciate them. If a garment has sentimental value then label and put it in storage (but only keep a handful of sentimental items!)
5. Give away if you haven't worn or used it in a year
Everyone has those 'someday' pieces in their home. "Someday I'll wear that dress out" or "someday I'll use that embroidered tablecloth". In reality, if you've gone through a whole year without looking twice at your 'someday' item, you probably won't use it in the future. Let it go!
6. Ignore trends and fads
Buying things because they are on trend makes no sense if they don't suit you or your house. Prevent clutter by not buying into the latest fashion trends and give away the 'trendy' stuff you bought but never used.
7. Invest in storage systems
After you have decided what to keep, you need a clever storage system to keep the clutter at bay. A little planning goes a long way. Measure your space before going shopping for new storage boxes, baskets, racks, hooks and more to ensure it works for your home.
8. The car is not storage
Cars are for driving, not holding your stuff. Food wrappers, spare clothes, blankets, towels, tools etcetera should be kept in your home or tossed. A clean and tidy car will help to put you into a good mood and reinforce your 'no clutter' motto.
9. Inherited items
So you can't bear the thought of throwing away the silverware from your aunt, the blanket from your grandmother, the lamp from your uncle. The fact that you've inherited an item doesn't mean you absolutely must keep it. If you don't like it or won't use it, donate the hand-me-down or give it to someone who will appreciate it. If you do decide to keep it, don't keep double ups. For example, if you get a new blanket, give away one of your old ones.
10. Organise your files
A cluttered computer is just as time-consuming and confusing as a cluttered home. Set aside a few hours to go through your files: delete what you don't need, organise folders, add colour coding. When naming files, add the date backwards at the beginning, followed by key words that will help you remember what the file is about. That way it will be easier to search for your work.
11. Don't display everything
Trying to put your entire souvenir collection on display is a big mistake as it will only make your home feel more cluttered. The key is to edit: less is more! Put a few of your treasures on display shelves and put the rest in storage. Rotate your collection when you need a change.

400 g spaghetti
400 g spaghetti
150 g baby spinach
1 punnet cherry tomatoes, tomatoes cut in half
400 g tinned tuna in brine
1 birdseye chilli, seeded and sliced
Grated zest of 1 lemon
Freshly ground black pepper
2 tablespoons olive oil
1. Cook spaghetti in boiling water. While the spaghetti is cooking, toss the baby spinach, halved cherry tomatoes, drained and crumbled tuna, chilli and lemon zest in a large mixing bowl.
2. When spaghetti is cooked, drain and add to the mixing bowl. Toss all ingredients together. The heat of the spaghetti will warm all the ingredients and wilt the spinach. Season with freshly ground black pepper.
3. Divide between 4 pasta bowls and drizzle ½ tablespoon olive oil over each bowl.

There were many studies in the past suggested that consuming five portions of fruits and vegetables a day is the optimum amount for lowering the risk of death from any cause.
The researchers from this latest study, led by Dr. Saverio Stranges of the University of Warwick Medical School in the UK, used data from the Health Survey for England shown 'The higher the veg and fruit intakes, the higher well-being in particular mental health for those who consumed five or more portions of fruits and vegetables a day, compared with those who consumed less than one portion'.
This finding suggested that fruit and vegetable consumption was the health-related behavior most consistently associated with both low and high mental well-being. High mental well -being is more than simply the absence of symptoms or illness - it is the condition of feeling good and functioning well.

Add one more strike against eating too much sugar. Studies have found that diets high in glucose or fructose affect what’s called “skin collagen crosslinking.” That sounds complicated, but it breaks down like this: Collagen is responsible for your skin’s strength and elasticity. Too much sugar can disrupt the balance in your body’s proteins, including collagen. When that happens, your skin’s softness and elasticity go downhill — leading to stiff, rigid skin and, ultimately, wrinkles.
That means white bread, white pastas and potatoes, as well as sugary drinks and snacks. Preliminary research suggests foods with a high glycemic index cause acne breakouts for many people — and keep in mind acne isn’t just a problem for adolescents. When you eat a diet rich in these foods, your body produces higher levels of insulin. Insulin spikes can set off a chain reaction associated with developing acne. On top of that, an insulin spike inevitably leads to an insulin crash — leaving your skin and the rest of you looking and feeling drained.
Salt and other forms of sodium may add flavor to your food — but too much sodium can sap the life out of your skin. This occurs in a couple of different ways. For one, too much sodium dehydrates you, which means it sucks vital moisture from your skin. Too much sodium also can cause you to retain water, resulting in “bags” under your eyes and other visible signs.
The typical Western diet includes many dairy sources that contain hormones, including certain types of steroids and growth hormones. Unfortunately, these stimulate acne, too. The same has been found for protein powder shakes that contain casein and whey, as well; if you’re using these shakes as substitutes for food, be wary. If acne is a concern for you, organic dairy products may offer an alternative.
Red meat, cheese, butter and hydrogenated oils — all are high in saturated fats. And foods that are high in saturated fat are associated with high concentrations of insulin growth factor. Unfortunately, insulin growth factor stimulates the production of the sex hormones that increase acne production. On the flip-side, plant-based diets, low-fat diets, high-fiber diets and vegetarian diets reduce blood concentrations of insulin-like growth factor.

CARROT GREENS ARE NOT TOXIC
Carrots are often sold in grocery stores without their tops. This is because the tops will continue to extract moisture and nutrients from the root if stored that way. To preserve the carrots from drying out quickly, the tops are often cut off.
If you are fortunate enough to find carrots with their greens attached, juice them together with the carrots. However, ensure that they are organic.
Carrots have been rumoured to be toxic but they are really not. Some people may be allergic to certain substances in carrot greens, but it doesn't mean that they are toxic. In fact, they are packed with various vitamins, minerals, chlorophyll, and even protein.
Carrots and their tops are a great source of potassium and calcium. These minerals are alkaline and help lower blood pressure, support your metabolism, build bone strength, reduce risks of heart diseases, and many other benefits.
Have you ever tried juicing carrot tops/greens?

Inflammation is more than just a swelling, pain, heat or a local redness on certain parts of the body, in which may be causing by an injury or an infection.
Chronic inflammation is the root cause of many serious illnesses and when left untreated (mainly by nutrition), it damages the body in untold ways.
The ingredients in this juice combo has high contents of anti-inflammatory properties that help relieve inflammation.
- ½ pineapple (remove skin)
- Greens of choice (e.g. spinach, kale, Swiss chard, etc.)
- 4 sticks of celery
- ¼ lemon
